In memory of Eric & Brian Van Tine
We fund sarcoma research, ECMO family travel, mental health, and the creative arts — in memory of the Van Tine brothers.
What we do
The Van Tine Foundation is a family foundation created in memory of Eric and Brian Van Tine. We fund four causes: Sarcoma research and patient support, ECMO family travel assistance, mental health support, and the creative arts. Each one carried forward in a brother’s memory. Honor the brothers first; help another family second.
What we fund
Each cause was chosen in a brother’s memory — and we hold all four as equal.

In memory of Brian
The work he gave his life to.

Matthew’s field
So families can be at the bedside.

In memory of Eric
Support, resources, and dignity.

All three brothers
For the people and moments that need it.
Why we exist
Brian, Eric, and Matthew Van Tine grew up as three brothers with a shared love of music. Brian became one of the country’s leading sarcoma physician-scientists. Eric was an athlete and a musician. Matthew works in cardiac medicine — and today leads this foundation.
Within a single year, the family lost both Brian and Eric.
The Van Tine Foundation is how the family answers that loss — by funding the work the brothers believed in. Four causes, each carried in a brother’s memory, and a fourth — the creative arts — that belonged to all three.
