In memory of Eric & Brian Van Tine

Turning remembrance
into help.

We fund sarcoma research, family travel support, mental health and healing through creative arts, in memory of the Van Tine brothers.

What we do

Research, relief, and remembrance.

The Van Tine Foundation is a family foundation created in memory of Eric and Brian Van Tine.

We found four causes: We fund sarcoma research, family travel support, mental health and healing through creative arts. Each one carried forward in a brother’s memory.

Honor the brothers first; help another family second.

What we fund

Four causes, one family.

Each cause was chosen in a brother’s memory.

Why we exist

The story behind the foundation.

Brian, Eric, and Matthew Van Tine grew up as three brothers with a shared love of music. Brian became one of the country’s leading sarcoma physician-scientists. Eric was an athlete and a musician. Matthew works in cardiac medicine — and today leads this foundation.

Within a single year, the family lost both Brian and Eric.

The Van Tine Foundation is how the family answers that loss — by funding the work the brothers believed in. Four causes, each carried in a brother’s memory, and a fourth — the creative arts — that belonged to all three.
